Green Tea Side Effects

As I said before ... even the good has to have the bad. Although minor, Green  Tea side effects are a reality.

Balance ... it's the Chinese way.

Even this seemingly perfect tea, has to have a flaw somewhere ... right?

The good news, is that Green Tea contains less than half the amount of the caffeine content found in coffee.

The most common Green Tea side effects (mainly associated with caffeine):

The catechins in Green Tea stimulate your stomach's Gastric Acids and could cause heartburn.

An overdose of caffeine could reduce your bone density.

An interesting fact that I found out while researching this topic, which completely took me by surprise, was that caffeine is in actual fact toxic for animals like dogs and horses. This toxicity does not carry though to humans, so we are safe.. As long as we stay within the boundaries of moderation.

You would have to drink a whole lot of Green Tea to experience most of these side effects. In most cases, more tea than a normal person would be able to drink.

Green Tea has been classified as "Generally Safe" by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). This means that the only thing you need to worry about is, "Which of the types of Green Tea is your favourite".
